Amanda Dolan

My teaching experience has been split between my time in Buffalo as a science teacher and my time in Korea as an ESL teacher. These experiences were very different from each other and granted me the opportunity to learn many new things. As a science teacher in Buffalo I learned much more than just teaching. I learned the power a misconception can have over a student's ability to understand seemingly basic concepts. I found that while poverty may create serious obstacles to learning, they can be overcome with hard work and diligence on both the teacher's and the student's part. I learned what it is like to be part of a community that puts it's entire heart into the education of tomorrow's leaders. I'm very fortunate to have been a part of such a dedicated staff and happy to have had the chance to work with such inspiring students. (more to come)
