Amy Russo

I am a Senior at Emerson College working toward a BFA in Film Production with a concentration in Directing and a minor in Writing. My thesis film, "Racing the Sunrise," is a Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner Official Selection, and has been a finalist in the New York Screenplay Contest and the Artists Alliance Screenplay Contest, and has been selected for New York Independent Film Festival, California Women's Film Festival, and the Big House Entertainment Shorts LA Film Festival. I am a top 10% graduate of Franklin High School (2012). During that time I led the Varsity and Junior Varsity soccer teams as goalkeeper for 3 years, led the elite Madrigal singers, and participated in 4 stage productions as both cast and crew. I have been recognized by the National Association of English Teachers as a Promising Young Writer (2010). During my first year at Emerson, I organized and led a BeachBody Insanity workout group that consisted of 30+ Emerson students and was written about and praised in The Berkeley Beacon. I have served on multiple student productions as Production Designer and several as Director/Writer. I have worked as a summer video production and journalism intern for The Daily Quirk, an online women's lifestyle and entertainment magazine. In 2012, I was recognized when I won the Best Music Montage Award and the Best Music Video Award during the Aspects of Video competition. I wrote and directed both projects, which were judged by executives from prominent media companies such as CNN, Fox Sports, and NJTV Public Television.
