Obtaining an internship with Manassas Police Department during the summer of 2014 allowed me to understand how Law Enforcement deals with problems that occur. I can provide a beginner - level work experience with computer programs such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and SPSS Software (predictive analytical software). With this knowledge, I am able to show different ways of presenting data, writing a proficient paper, presenting information on a professional level, and manipulating and analyzing survey data from a large sample. My athletic ability allows me to respond quickly to situations that need an immediate solution, to work as a team, to communicate properly, to problem solve and to be a leader. Working as a sales clerk at Marshall's and Homegoods offers solid knowledge of how to multi-task, communication and customer service skills, and to portray a professional image. Lastly, my Criminal Justice and Sociology major equipped me with excellent knowledge of roles of law enforcement, theoretical perspectives of crime and sociology, and how socioeconomic status affects individuals. Having an Anthropology minor is beneficial because it brings additional, valuable knowledge about the importance of understanding other cultures perspectives.
