Chelsea Decio

I am about to begin my senior year at Eastern Connecticut State University as a Visual Arts major. Art has always been an enormous part of my life growing up and I have permanently planted it in my future. After I complete my bachelor's at ECSU I am planning on pursuing my masters of science in Art Therapy at Springfield College. I have always been torn between psychology and art, so I was ecstatic when I discovered that Art Therapy is a growing field where I could help people struggling with any aspect of their life through the process of creating and reflecting on their art. I currently work at the Child and Family Development Resource Center on Eastern's campus and absolutely love it. I work as a student worker, assisting in the preschool classes as well as with the toddler room. It's a great thing when you're having a bad day and going in to work can make it better. I am hoping that I can work with children after I receive my masters. I can't imagine a day without them.
