Cristan Newton

I am from Shreveport, Louisiana. I am a Senior, currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Cyber Security and a minor in Business Administration at Rockford University in Rockford, Illinois. After graduation in the fall of 2018, I plan on accepting my commission as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. I am starting my fourth year serving in the United States Marines Corps. In the summer of 2015, I accompanied my unit to conduct bilateral training with Reserve Marines and the Republic of Korea Marine Corps. During my time at Rockford University I have led several clubs and organization such as being President of the Student Government Association, President of the Black Student Union and President/Founder of the Archery Club. I was also involved in Student Athletic Advisory Committee as Treasurer, a senator in Student Government Association and a Global Ambassador for the University.
