Responsible for cyber defense of Oncor networks, including monitoring of network traffic and alerts to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems. - Assist on-shift Senior Security Analyst Lead with all shift responsibilities; take over shift responsibilities when the lead analyst is out of office. - Monitor, investigate and respond to real-time offenses, alerts, and security events on various security platforms including SIEM, IDS/IPS, Anti-Virus, Next-Gen Firewalls, Endpoint Protection, and real-time analysis software. Perform initial analysis and escalate as needed. - Act as owner of investigations, from start to finish, including event management, coordination between teams, and ensure completion of work before ticket closure. - Correlate information gathered from various sources including alerts, reports, and intelligence to provide a bigger picture overview to management as requested. - Create reports and reporting processes and procedures to allow for consistent and accurate reporting to management. Provide reports to management to ensure the company has the appropriate data to complete compliance reporting for required regulations. - Watch for and review cyber intelligence; recommend mitigation methods to protect the Oncor network until appropriate patches are released. - Interact directly with company staff, contractors and management as required to solve problems and ensure completion of projects and tickets. - Recommend and implement new rules for monitoring devices; provide tuning recommendations for rules as needed to optimize the tools, providing the ability to better monitor the network. - Setup and administrate tools including dynamic new-threat detection devices. - Develop and maintain supporting documentation for SOC business processes, best practices, procedures, job aids, and tool guides.
