Electrical Engineering Student at Clark Nexsen
As an intern, working closely with senior engineers, I am able to use AutoCAD & Revit to design electrical layouts for various projects – including commercial, federal, healthcare, higher education, industrial, technology, or transportation projects. I construct cost estimates and drawing proposals for various projects as well as perform LEED calculations, prepare one-line drawings, prepare electrical loads and panel schedules, constantly work with NEC and other codes and regulations, and prepare lighting calculations. In addition, I work with Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and control logic for various commercial faculties around the world. I constantly coordinate with other disciplines through these processes.
December 2014 - January 2017
Electrical Engineer Intern at Flint Energies
Flint Energies is a highly successful power distribution Co-op. This internship is the first of three terms (summer terms) at Flint Energies. I was able to go out with the linemen on Overhead and Underground crews learning what is actually happening out in the field. I was able to see firsthand the process in which a new project is completed and also the process in which a fault is repaired. Through this semester I had hands on experience with voltage regulators, transformers (primary and secondary sides), transmission lines, substations, breakers, reclosers, relays, meters, communication systems and a lot more.
May 2014 - August 2014
Engineer Intern at Georgia Department of Corrections
The GDOC Engineering Dept. provides safe and secure facilities by the design, construction and maintenance of the essential physical infrastructure as mandated by the Department's core mission to protect the public and staff. Through this internship, I was able to shadow professional engineers as they completed new projects and also fixed various problems in the state prisons around Georgia. Projects included new construction, renovation, audio systems, surveillance systems, lighting, and more.
