I have worked with children in various capacities throughout my adult life. I have taken on the personal task of learning more about the whole child by discovering who I am as an individual. I have served as a mentor for educators new to the field of education, a mentor for at-risk African American females and a professional development facilitator. All of these roles have allowed me to become a highly qualified teacher and role model.
Duties/Responsibilities: Professional Development District & Building Chairperson, Professional Learning Community (PLC) building representative, Building Leadership Team (BLT) member, Member of the Board of Directors for Girl World Inc, Certified Hatha Yoga teacher, Creator of an after school yoga class for students, staff and community members at University City High school.

I am responsible for teaching the Social Studies courses in an alternative school setting. My duties including teaching the following subjects: Current Events, African American Experience, US History, and US Government. I serve as chairperson of the department. I am responsible for making decisions regarding history courses offered and books used to teach the courses. I also serve as professional development chairperson, district professional development committee representative, and a member of the building professional learning community.
