I am that blissful smile of complete contentment. I am laughter; the giggly kind and the all out can't contain it, barely breathing kind. I am intensity, with my tongue curled over my upper lip as I concentrate on what I want to attain and sometimes I am the rhythmic deep, hard breathing with nostrils flared experiencing the suffering that makes it all worth while. I am the sand, penetrating sun and waves in a perpetual cycle, keeping my head above the current in the effort to control what is more powerful than I. I am aboard the creature whose mane blows as its hooves thunder. I am the face buried into its neck inhaling the sweat, dirt, and whatever it is that makes everything right again. I am the hug that brings that feeling of ultimate security and refuge. I am the sunset that sheds its light and casts shadows making everything appear beautiful. I am the sticky hands of a child filled with wonder and optimism. I am the cricket on a hot summer night who, just as much as he needs his next breathe needs to hear a reply. I am the memory that when recalled brings joy. I am digging in the dirt, making make-believe utopias. I am swinging off the deck over the oleander bush. I am the breeze that blows while driving with the radio on and windows rolled down. I am the smell of rain from a summer thunderstorm as it hits the dry earth. I am crawling into a bed with clean sheets and freshly shaven legs under the steady ticking of a ceiling fan. I am the stupid, carefree dance that no one but me knows. I am the white and purple lilac bushes blossoming in the spring rain. I am looking up at the stars and feeling so small. I am riding through the clouds in an airplane and feeling like you're entering heaven. I am the book that makes you cry and takes your breath away. And hopefully I am the words to the song that inspires you.
