Emily Baker
Clarkson University, Class of 2016
From Germantown, N.Y.
I grew up in Golden, CO at the foot of the Rockies. I then moved from Colorado to Northern New York in 2009 and began high school at Morristown Central School. I ended up moving to Ogdensburg and graduating there with an Advance Regents Diploma.
I decided to apply to the Clarkson School in Potsdam, NY, an early college opportunity for what would be high school seniors. My sister attended the school in 2010 and I applied for the class of 2013. Though Clarkson didn't offer Anthroplogy - my desired career path - as a major, I found a niche in the Humanities and Social Sciences as well as in the program titled Social Documentation, a double major in Liberal Arts and Communications after being accepted and moving to Potsdam.
I am currently pursuing Social Documentation as a double major in History and Communications with a minor in Anthropology with plans to study abroad in Troyes, France in Spring 2015. I hope to graduate in Spring 2016. I live in the Hudson Valley with my family, my dog Lucy, and my cat Henry. With a family full of artisans, I get my fill of the visual arts while away from Clarkson.
