Erick Koech

Member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi
From Brookings, S.D.
I am originally from Kenya. I came to SDSU to pursue my masters in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. In my graduate school, I specialized in Natural Resources Management. My thesis was centered on conservation drainage management practices in South Dakota soils. The purpose of the research was to investigate the impact of drainage and nitrogen stabilizers on crop yield and nutrient loss (NO3-N). My hypothesis was that management practices and environmentally optimum drainage intensities can be developed to reduce the adverse off-site water quality impacts of subsurface drainage while maintaining the agronomic benefits. Besides my interest in managing Agricultural and Biosystems resources, I am someone who consistently innovates to create value. I turn ideas into project, and projects into success.I am a highly motivated and a great team player. My career objective is to advance and employ the key skills acquired during my professional training in capacity building and to put engineering principles into practice.
