Meghan Hellwitz
Right after High School (2007), I lived in Japan for a year as a foreign exchange student. When I returned, I started my career in childcare and spent my weekends flying all over the world thanks to my dad's employee flight benefits.
It wasn't until the summer of 2012 that I had even heard of the Accounting Profession. A friend suggested I look into it because of my detail-oriented and math loving personality type. I signed up for Financial Accounting at my community college, and knew the first day it was meant for me. I remember rushing home because I was so excited to try the homework.
Today, I am attending graduate school at Ithaca College; working toward my MBA in Professional Accountancy and preparing to take the CPA exam this Fall. The program is difficult, but my passion for Accounting keeps me going.
After graduation, I am looking forward to starting a rewarding career as an Accountant here in Ithaca.
My dream job is working in white-collar crime. Accountants are held the highest of ethical standards in business, and I intend to uphold that reputation both personally and professionally
