Johnathon Eckert
Hello! My name is Johnathon Eckert. I graduated from Jamaica High School in Sidell, IL in 2012. Of the 34 students in my class, I ranked 9th. I will be beginning my first year at Northern Illinois University. I am majoring in Public Health, though I have intentions of changing to Medical Laboratory Sciences. I am a cancer survivor. I have been in remission for 7 years. In my spare time, I like to play intramural sports, exercise, write songs, spending time with friends and family, do church activities, etc. During my time at Northern Illinois University, I plan to create an organization that raises awareness about the effects of human trafficking and sex slavery and ways we can end it. I also plan to create an organization that is a Bible study for students in fraternities and sororities. After I graduate, I plan to go to medical school to become a Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist (child blood disorder and cancer physician). If that doesn't occur, I plan to work in medical missions. I cannot wait to see what is in store for me over these next several years at Northern Illinois University.
