Kaitlin Habekost

University at Albany
From Massapequa Park, NY
I am currently a senior at the University at Albany pursuing a degree in psychology with a minor in sociology. My goal is to obtain valuable psychological research experience while obtaining my bachelor's degree here at the university. Soon after I plan to go on to graduate school to obtain my master's degree in mental health counseling. To keep myself busy, I am involved in quite a few on-campus organizations and clubs including Albany Business Leader's Emerging (ABLE), Presidential Honor's Society, and National Society of Collegiate Scholar's (NSCS). Research Assistant at Child and Family Eperiences Project
I volunteer twice per week at the Boys and Girls Club of Schenectady along with other research assistants for the Child and Family Experiences Project (CAFE lab). Essentially, we supervise the children ages six through twelve to make sure they are all getting along when it comes to playing in the gym or game room. Our mission is to provide them with a safe place to learn and grow, ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals, and hope and opportunity. I assisted in the evaluation and design of a Likert-style survey to be administered to the children at the Boys and Girls Club. The purpose of this survey was to assess the children's overall experiences at the club.
