Matthew Hirshberg
From Madison, Wisc.
I am a graduate student in Educational Psychology focusing on contemplative education - the integration of contemplative practices into educational contexts. Presently, I am concentrating on three projects. The first is a 3-year study investigating the effects of mindfulness training on 5th graders and their teachers. The second is a 2-year study examining the impact of mindfulness training on pre-service teachers. The final study is a lab-based experimental design looking at the effects of different types of contemplative practice on stress.
In addition, I work with my advisor on forgiveness research. We have recently constructed a new measure of group forgiveness that we are working to validate in several cross-cultural samples.
