Student Worker at LHU HOPE Center
The HOPE Center exists to empower students and speak out against injustice, especially related to sexual assault and relationship violence and to create a safe space and opportunities for open discussion. I work in the HOPE Center main office where I interact directly with students. Students come into the office to learn about resources available to them, often after they have experienced some kind of relationship violence. I place these students in contact with the campus's Title IX director and I report any incidents to the campus police. I create flyers and write press releases for HOPE Center events, like our annual Domestic Violence Awareness Vigil in the fall and Take Back the Night in the spring. I also write articles and put together our bi-monthly HOPE Center newsletter, A Touch of HOPE.
