Patricia Jones

I love to help student, motivate them to overcome fears and conquer their dreams. Patricia has demonstrated the perseverance and drive to pursue her education in order to improve upon her career. As an adult learner, she embodies many of the characteristics of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Some of these characteristics include integrity, patience, leadership, and perseverance. I have had the distinct pleasure of having Patricia Jones as a student in my Speech Class as she pursues her Bachelor of Arts in Management degree. Patricia has been more than the ideal student. In her pursuit of excellence, she has demonstrated the initiative that any professor desires of his or her students. In addition, she has always maintained a clear sense of purpose as she traversed through this class. Patricias dedication was apparent from the outset. She always came prepared, asked good questions, and frequently volunteered to present her work. She was one of the hardest working students and would often email me with questions. As the academics at Benedictine University can be challenging, my classes are no different in that I seek to stretch my students to areas they did not think were possible. Some of these areas include critical thinking and meaningful discussion. In both of these areas, Patricia exceeded the requirement. Of note, Patricia seemed to always be held in high esteem by her peers within the classroom, allowing me to recognize her leadership potential and capabilities. Again, in conclusion, I sincerely recommend Patricia Jones as the ideal nominee for the MLK Scholarship award.
