I have the pleasure of working primarily in the Microbiology lab, growing bacteria, setting up lab experiments for the students, keeping the lab clean, maintaining the Material Safety Data Sheets, running the autoclaves, making various types of media for culturing bacteria, and communicating with the professors to make sure the lab periods run smoothly.

Paladino recieved a $2,000 scholarship prize package including up to $1,700 to be applied to the recipient’s course tuition, fees and books for the 2015-16 academic year, a Samsung Galaxy Arch smartphone (valued at $160) and three months of free unlimited text, talk and data nationwide. Applicants for the scholarship were required to write a 200-character text message to everyone in the world, then a 300-word essay explaining why they would send that particular message.
