I am Navajo-Dine from Black Mesa on the Navajo Reservation. English is my second language and learned it at government boarding schools when was very young. I grew up with my mom and grand parents who only spoke the Navajo Language and lived in a time when horses were our main mode of transportation, no electricity and lived in hogans. I managed to go to school and now am an Associate Professor at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff Arizona.
