HACU 28th Annual Conference
Served as a student ambassador for the United States Department of Agriculture at the 28th annual Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) conference held in Denver, Colorado. I've got to say, it was an amazing experience and an incredible feeling to know that you're surrounded by individuals who share the same culture as well as the same dreams.

"Helping Hands" Food Bank Drive
This was an event stemming from the collaboration with the USDA and our local food bank in the Imperial County. It was an opportunity for students to give back to the community by helping the local food bank package goods for all those in need.

“Working for the Great Outdoors- Educational Excursion And Learning Experience” at the Cleveland National Forest in California
This was my first time visiting a forest and I had an amazing time in the outdoors. We were given a very informative presentation about the careers that the United States Forest Service has to offer as well as steps to get there. We took mostly freshmen and they seemed to really enjoy it as well.

Rangeland Management Intern at Dept. of Agriculture / United States Forest Service
• Assisted with rangeland analysis by performing Multiple Indicator Monitoring (MIM), Frequency-Plot Monitoring, and Photo-Points • Assisted with data collection and data analysis to more efficiently and properly utilize rangeland • Monitored and assessed rangeland and water conditions • Participated in a field workshop hosted by the National Riparian Services Team, focusing on the proper monitoring methods and protection of riparian zones in order to improve rangeland conditions • Aided in the completion of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request made upon the Rangeland Management department, compiled relevant request documentation • Assisted the Hydrology department with data collection and buffer-zone monitoring • Participated on a ride-along assignment with the law enforcement officer stationed at the forest
