Sarah Dougherty

What happens when a journalist and a reporter-turned-marketing professional get married and have a child? Me. Having grown up in a household where storytelling was the norm and inquisitive questions encouraged, I've been preparing for a career in public relations for about 21 years now. Passionate about developing my skill set, I've jumped into opportunities on campus, in different cities and parts of the industry. As a student at The University of Alabama, I've been able to work for real clients and try new things. I've also learned from professionals at Cengage Learning, Southwest Airlines and Burson-Marsteller, where I've been challenged by different marketing and corporate communication environments. A semester abroad furthered my Spanish language abilities and cultural awareness in addition to inspiring a passion for travel and diverse audiences. I've spent my college career in 6 cities and 2 countries, and am seeking that next great learning experience. I'd love to chat about opportunities in the mid-Atlantic or Northeastern region as my May 2017 graduation date quickly approaches. Roll Tide!
