Selena Gonzalez
Wesleyan University, Class of 2017
From New York, NY
From New York, NY
I attend Wesleyan University, pursuing a double major in Psychology and Neuroscience & Behavior, after having graduated from The Dalton School in 2013. Due to my interest in mental health and understanding the biological and social mechanisms driving health and illness, I will be pursuing an MPH at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in the fall.
Throughout my time at Wesleyan, I have developed important leadership skill sets due to the host of opportunities available to students. I continue to develop these skills within my roles on campus as a Senior Interviewer, Academic Peer Advisor, Student Judicial Board Member, Research Assistant in the Department of Biology and Student Health Advisory Committee Member. Outside of Wesleyan, I have focused my interest in health by volunteering within the Columbia University Medical Center Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program as well as participating as a volunteer and research assistant at the Community Health Center in Middletown, Connecticut.
After graduating, I hope to make an impact in the fields of public health, medical research and social work.
