Stevie Duffek
Singing her lungs out to Disney's "The Lion King," busting her dance moves to Hakuna Matata, and banging on pots and pans in the kitchen, Stevie Marie has always had a passion for music. She is a Midwestern girl from the Dairy state who is an open and caring person. She is known as the girl who always has a smile on her face, who loves taking risks and doing things others may not. She lives life in the moment and always tries to have fun. Determination and competitiveness are two huge characteristics of Stevie's. When she has a dream, she follows it, and she works for it until she reaches it. Her musical journey has not been easy. Having been turned down from auditions for solos, colleges, and other performances, Stevie Marie was forced only to practice more and keep trying. She says, "It's never been an easy path for me. Like many musicians, I've been disappointed in myself numerous times. Their have always been speed bumps, detours, and delays, but they force me off the road onto my own path, which is where the magic of music and dreams happens". This determination forced her to work harder and resulted in Superior Ratings in State Competitions, wining talent shows, earning music scholarships, and having her work earn Outstanding Ratings through the county fair. She also was a finalist at the Racine County Fair's Fair Idol Competition. Her most successful accomplishment to date has been her release of her first album, Alternating Routes, now available on itunes. Stevie is a small artist with a big voice. She is a social butterfly who contains a strong passion for her music and feels that she should share her gift with the world. She is the girl who wears bright neon clothes, even though it might be gloomy outside, she is the girl who has multiple colors in her hair because she likes it that way, she is the girl who is known for her fiery personality. Outside of music, Stevie Marie is an animal lover, a professional dog trainer, and a dancer. As an artist, Stevie would like to be respected and perceived as a woman who has free expression in her music. She wants to inspire others to do what they love and to be who they want to be without being afraid of society's judgments. She wants to be seen as a wild spirit who makes a difference through her music by inspiring people to be honest and open not only with themselves, but with everyone around them as well.
