Tamara Jones

Majoring in Accounting
Albright College, Class of 2020
From New York, N.Y.
From February- May 2014 I participated in weekly Life and Career skills workshops through "This Way Ahead", a Gap Inc. sponsored program instituted by a non-profit organization called "The Door" that focuses on helping inner-city youth. These workshops helped me prepare for not only work in retail but for the career I choose in my life. Currently I'm working as a sales associate at Banana Republic in Rockefeller Center. My goal is to one day become a service leader for the store and eventually GM for the whole store. As for more long term goals I would love to find a career in Gap Inc. as a regional Human Resources Manager for Banana Republic, Gap, Old Navy, Athleta, Piperlime, or Intermix. Overall, I love what Gap Inc. stands for and I love that their company is based on not only selling clothes and making money, but also making people happy and content, having integrity, inspiring creativity, spreading joy, and embracing diversity. I love servicing people and making sure that everybody from my co-workers to the customers are in a safe shopping environment where they feel completely comfortable. :) On July 28th, 2014 I participated in a speed networking event with other corporate Gap Inc. employees. I meet with HR Managers, Designers, various Leadership roles, Visual Managers, Public Relations Managers, and many more.

Sales Associate at Banana Republic / Gap Inc.
As a sales associate I'm responsible for the small things that make a huge difference in a multi million dollar company like Gap Inc. On a daily basis, I am responsible for interacting and assisting customers from all over the world. I am also responsible for maintaining the store and making sure that certain areas were presentable before the store opened, after the store opened, and throughout business hours. As a Sales Associate it is essential for me to be well rounded in different areas, whether it be at the Cash Register, Stock, Fitting Rooms, Shoes, Reception, Assisting in Styling Appointments and customer service and concierge. In addition to all the basic tasks and skills I have to display on a daily basis, I also have to keep up to date with all the new fashion trends and movements. It's important for me to not only form a bond with customers, but also trust. It is my goal to make customers trust me with styling and updating their wardrobe, whether it be for the Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter.
July 2014 - Present
