Tarek Elarabi
Tarek Elarabi, received his Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AAST), Alexandria, Egypt in December 2008. In May 2011, he received his Master of Science degree in the field of Computer Engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL), USA. During his stay at ULL, he has been serving as a lecturer in the department of Computer Science, a researcher at the VLSI & Video Research Labs and the academic graduate advisor for the Center for Advanced Computer Studies (CACS). He is a member of the IEEE and the Phi Kappa Phi honer society. He also served as an officer for the ULL IEEE Student Chapter. Since August 2009, he has been pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy degree in the field of Computer Engineering. During his Ph.D. journey, he has served on the technical program committees of numerous IEEE conferences and Springer Journals in the areas of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and VLSI. His research interests include digital video processing with particular interest in video compression algorithms, video hardware architecture and heterogeneous video transcoding for real-time video applications and devices.
