Thais Yokomizo

Thais Naomi Yokomizo was born in september of 1986 in Suzano/So Paulo - Brazil, she started the musical studies when she was 12 years old; first playing keyboards and nylon acoustic guitar and finally migrating to the electric guitar. Thais always prefer to play guitar with no boundaries of styles, considering that she had the opportunity to share musical experiences with some amazing people and musicians along her musical tragetory.. Graduated at Souza Lima Conservatory in 2006 in the guitar studies, Thais had the opportunity to build her professional music knownledge, in special in instrumental music, brazilian music and jazz style during that period. Carrying a nice background teaching acoustic/electric guitar, music theory, and harmony. Thais had the privilege to teach in some music schools in So Paulo; Souza Lima Conservatory - Alphaville/BR, Sons & Tons - Suzano/SP - BR, Pueri Domus - Aldeia da Serra/Barueri - BR, and private instruction in Brazil for more than 4 years. In 2010 Thais Naomi earned a Berklee Latin America Scholarship that opened the opportunity to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston - Massachusetts - USA. Focusing in composition, arranging and performance classes, Thais graduated in the spring of 2012 getting the Bachelor Certificate. Nowadays Thais teach private guitar lessons around Massachusetts for people from many different levels and areas, earning some experience outside of Brazil and taking some time to compose instrumental music and also songwriting. As an artist Thais Naomi has some experience in graphic design, professional photography and drawing, always producing new material connected to her music and various perspectives of life.
