Thua Ly-Pham

Purdue University, Class of 2013
Passion. The word is used only too often on a job applicant for a potential employer. It's used to signify the strength of positive feeling towards things the job entails, like the actions taken to fulfill the job, the product of the job or the company's mission statement and trademark. Applicants would tell hiring managers that they're the person for the job because their passionate about fashion, stocks, photography or whatever else and that they'll fit in with the company because they have qualifications XYZ and are a real 'team player' and 'goal-oriented.' How do you know my passion? I do it. You see it. I enjoy the hustle and bustle of a work day. I love having a perfectly time-scheduled day only to have it shattered with unknown factors, and find it thrilling to show my skill of rolling with the punches. At the end of the day, I would successfully achieve my goal regardless. People I have worked or volunteered with in the past would say that I always have a smile on my face, that I'm a talkative extrovert and that I somehow magically get my work completed (usually above and beyond what is asked). I have the ability to work with a large group or a small team with my strong sense of leadership and unequivocal talent to fairly delegate. However, projects in which I have worked stag on (whether initially or throughout the whole project) have been praised as well. I'm a graduate of Purdue University with a BA in Communication, BS in Health & Fitness, and extensive coursework within Hospitality & Tourism Management. I have just completed my Teaching Certification from Taylor University, to now pursue my MBA at Ball State University.
