Tushar Mathur

Majored in Computational Sci And Engineer
Miami University , Class of 2015
From Naperville, Illinois
I recently graduated with a Master of Science degree in Computational Science and Engineering (MSCSE with Electrical Engineering track) from Miami University. As part of the graduate degree program, my research thesis problem was on optimization of frequency slot allocation in GMPLS controlled Flexi-grid optical networks or Elastic Optical Networks (EON) / Spectum Sliced Elastic Optical Networks (SLICE). Problem evaluation was done by writing simulation code of various Routing and Spectrum Assignment algorithms. Also, I am a part-time Research Assistant (RA) and Teaching Assistant (TA) with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept. I have been working as an RA for past two semesters with ARRIS, Inc under a University-Industry collaboration. The principal investigator of the project is my research adviser, Dr. Donald R Ucci. We are working on a data analysis research study for optimizing the bandwidth usage by Multiple System Operators (MSO). As a TA, my responsibilities include: tutoring sessions for Signals and Systems, Electric Circuit Analysis and grading homeworks, quizzes of the fore said courses. In summer '14, I worked as an Advanced Technology Intern at ARRIS, Inc. for the Systems Architecture group. My responsibilities were to explore network simulator, NS-3 and developing a simulation application for analyzing traffic engineering data. Prior to joining Miami University, I worked as a Software Engineer at Motorola Solutions, Inc., India for Enterprise Networks and Communication (ENC) business unit. My work was primarily focused on wireless access points (AP) and wireless switches (L2/ L3) based on IEEE 802.11xx standards. The research and test group's lab had an exclusive assortment of hardware and software apparatus which assisted the group in acquiring a number of US patents. This led me to be the first author of a patent. In my leisure, I like to read fictional books, play badminton, table-tennis, cricket and FPS online games (Battlefield 4)
