Majoring in Biology, Minoring in Honors Minor In Interdisciplinary Studies
San Diego State University, Class of 2017
From Manteca, CA
I see myself as both highly academic and highly athletic. I earn a high GPA each semester and was a member of my high school's track and cross country teams, the SDSU Men's Crew Team (2013-2014), and the SDSU Ski and Snowboard Team (2014-Present). On top of school and sports, I like to occupy my time with music. My father taught me how to play the drums when I was 13 and I've been playing ever since. I also dabbled in playing piano for two years in high school, though unfortunately I haven't played since.

Ski and Snowboard
My time on the snow team was both relaxing and fun, and gave me an opportunity to truly explore myself and find what I love to do and want to do for a career.

Model United Nations at SDSU
This program was very new (founded in the summer of 2015) when I decided to try it out and still trying to find its place, but regardless it opened my eyes to different cultures and nations worldwide and gave me a more worldly perspective.

Men's Crew
The greatest takeaway from this experience was learning to discipline myself and to prepare for whatever goals I want to achieve, both short-term and long-term.

Sports Club Site Supervisor at Associated Students of SDSU
My responsibility as a Site Supervisor is to watch over the different Sports Clubs' on-campus practices and ensure that they have everything they need (water, equipment, facilities access, etc.) and follow all A.S. guidelines. Another primary responsibility of mine is to provide first-aid to any individuals who are injured during practice.

Head Lifeguard/Swim Instructor at City of Manteca
Since May of 2011, I have spent my summers working for the City of Manteca Parks and Recreation Department as one of their lifeguards and swim instructors. Duties include providing a safe atmosphere at the public pool, providing first aid to injured patrons, and teaching students (typically age 5-11) how to properly swim. When I was promoted to the head lifeguard position, my responsibilities became more focused on supervising my fellow lifeguards and dealing with unhappy customers, though in any emergency I am still responsible for providing first-aid and emergency care.
