Adora Evans

My name is Adora Evans and I am a senior at Nazareth College with a double major in Communication and Media and secondly, Chinese. In the past two years, I have had many experiences including an event planning internship with LifePrep@Naz (a program geared towards providing students living with a learning disability a highly structured college experience) in which I successfully planned a community breakfast and more. I am currently the Public Relations Intern for a budding companyPointiiin which I am creating my own tasks and responsibilities. So far, I have created, more or less, a three part vetting process. In addition to my experience with internships, I have held positions through work-study jobs on campus (e.g. LifePrep@Naz mentor) and off campus jobs. I am currently a server at T.G.I. Friday's, as well as a host, and a host coach. My experiences do not end here, however. Recently, in the summer of 2014 and 2012, I went to Beijing, China to study abroad. During my first experience in 2012, I was admitted as one of approximately thirty high school students on a full scholarship through Americans Promoting Study Abroad (APSA) and the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y). I mainly continued my studies of Mandarin and Chinese culture, but I also developed necessary career and leadership skills and engaged in community and cultural activities/ excursions. In 2014, I returned to Beijing, China on a Fulbright Scholarship with eight other students through the University of Buffalo's Graduate Center. There I also continued my studies of Mandarin and Chinese culture. It is highly fulfilling to be in the presence of people, moving at a fast pace, and seeing my ideas transform into a reality. I have varying interests; however, I am constantly looking forward to broadening my horizons and exploring the possibilities of my double major.
