Alexa Lucente

Alexa Lucente lives in Melbourne Beach, Florida. Her performance experience includes four years with the Mercyhurst Dance Department under the direction of Department Chair Tauna Hunter. Alexa has also previously studied and performed with the Spiritoso Ballet Company, the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet, and the Lake Erie Ballet. Ms. Lucentes repertoire includes numerous classical works such as The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, Paquita, Balanchines Four Temperaments, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Raymonda, Esmeralda, Don Quixote, La Bayadre, La Fille Mal Garde, Swan Lake and numerous contemporary works by recognized as well as emerging choreographers. Alexa began her dance education at age seven at the Spiritoso Ballet School in Dublin, Pennsylvania and continued her dance training at the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet prior to attending Mercyhurst University. In addition to Vagonavoa based classical ballet, Alexa is qualified in an eclectic spectrum of dance disciplines. She has experience in modern, contemporary ballet, jazz, tap, creative movement, hip-hop and on a collegiate level has also studied dance history, arts administration, pedagogy, business management, and photography. Alexa is involved in numerous extracurricular activities including the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society and the Mercyhurst Liturgical Dance Ensemble. Alexa is currently a senior at Mercyhurst University majoring in Dance with a concentration in Pedagogy. She is involved in professional level dance courses and performances while maintaining a 3.5 cumulative GPA within the academic realm of the University. Ms. Lucente is very goal oriented with a strong work ethic due to the rigorous demands of the fine arts and she applies these qualities to all that she does. Her mission as a dancer and educator is to be a catalyst in exposing the transcendence of the arts to the world. Upon graduation, Alexa Lucente plans to pursue a career as a professional dancer and educator.
