Alexander Horner

Alexander is a Senior year student studying at Ithaca College, currently pursuing a bachelor of science in business administration with a concentration in marketing studies and entrepreneurship. Alex is in the process of incorporating a business entity that sells chemical free, cigarette smoking cessation alternatives. The business is currently in the prototyping and market validation phase. Alex has won multiple awards for his product including: acceptance into Rev: Ithaca Startup Works Summer Accelerator Program, first place in Ithaca Colleges Park Tank Competition, and first place in Ithaca Colleges Annual Business Idea Competition. Desired positions involve: marketing strategy and advertising, sales promotion, and marketing analytics. Additionally, Alex is passionate about eco-friendly /health technology, and renewable energy. During the summer of 2016, Alex was awarded acceptance and funding to prototype his product at Rev: Ithaca Startup Works' Hardware Accelerator Program. Rev is a Cornell University based, collaborative space for entrepreneurs, designed to create jobs by cultivating strategic development of new products, and implementing them into the market. During the summer of 2015, Alex interned at the Downtown Rutland Partnership, a non-profit organization dedicated to marketing and event planning for the city of Rutland, Vermont's expanding downtown district. During this internship, Alex was in charge of creating and conducting marketing research surveys, and implementing that data into a productive budget plan. Alex coordinated events, and collaborated with local businesses to implement them within strategic marketing schemes. Alex is a member of multiple organizations at Ithaca College including: Vice President of IC Moody Magazine, Junior Analyst of the Core Trading Consultants, a member of the American Marketing Association, and the Young Entrepreneurs Organization.
