Ashley Philbeck
Ashley is an Environmental Science and History undergraduate student minoring in Sustainability at Florida Institute of Technology. She is expected to graduate in May of 2015. In addition to being a student, Ashley is a resident assistant, a research assistant for the Marine and Environmental Chemistry lab in the Department of Marine and Environmental Systems, a tutor in the university's Academic Support Center, and a student blogger for the marketing department. She was also the past president and co-founder of the Florida Tech Environmental Club. She maintains a current cumulative GPA of 3.34.
In the past, Ashley has completed two internship with St. Johns River Water Management District, where she first worked on regulation and compliance, mitigation banking, and GIS and upon her return for a second internship, worked in the field to collect data on seagrasses and the Indian River Lagoon. She participated in the NASA INSPIRE summer collegiate experience program in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico in 2009. She also conducted research on plant growth in microgravity and competed in science fairs at the regional, state, and private levels from 2006 to 2011.
