Why do you care and Why am I different? I used to study English Literature in Minzu University of China which is one the universities that most people want to get in. After studying for two years, I won the professional scholarship and the national scholarship most people dreamed about. I was elected as Top Ten Students in Minzu University of China, and the Excellent Students Awards in Beijing. Everything seems smooth for me, and just at that moment, I quitted. I gave up all the honors that I had and started over at Emerson. For two reason, I love challenging myself and I love communication. Most of the people thought that I had wasted two years of my life, and some of them thought I made the wrong decision. But, I want to say, it's the two years in Chinese university and years at Emerson that makes me different. Years in Minzu University provided me skills and opportunities for being a leader, a team player and a good performer.(see my past experience) Years at Emerson equipped me with professional knowledge in Communication Field. I acquired the skills in interpersonal and intercultural communication. I learned to argue and advocate on certain issues as well as to understand conflict and negotiation in our life and in business. I also minor in marketing communication which provides me a professional communication tool when entering into business. I decided to use my experience and my personalities to make my life more valuable to the world and a unique experience for myself. My purpose is not only to build a bridge between America and China, but also to use my own understanding of the world to draw the good values appreciated universally and integrate them into the products I design, the stories I write and the issues I want to advocate. In a word, my purpose is to bring my own positive energy to the world to make communication between cultures more easily on the same emotional base.
