Healthcare is constantly evolving and changing, and continuing my education allows me to remain abreast of current trends as well as future trends. Medical/Surgical Coder at CEL Ambulatory Surgery Center
Reviewing medical charts and operative reports and abstracting diagnoses and surgical procedures performed. Assigning ICD-9-CM codes and CPT codes to these diagnoses and surgical procedures. Reviewing operative reports, checking for spelling/grammatical errors as well as other inconsistencies, and editing them as necessary. Posting payments daily, reviewing insurance claims and denials, and fixing insurance claims and re-submitting them for approval. Faxing operative reports and other related medical information to satellite medical practices [where our surgeons perform the majority of their consultations and examinations].
