I enjoy the company of people so much that I decided to sell women's shoes at the New Haven Flea Market in order to socialize. During one of those days, I met a then current student, Anita Nichols, who told me about Springfield College. That chance meeting has changed my life forever. Anita graduated in May of 2015 and passed away suddenly in July 2015. I learned now that if ever you get a chance to do something nice for someone, do it, because you may not get another chance. I will forever owe Anita my gratitude.

Activities

Warming The Hearts of the Hungry

Our group volunteered at St. Johns Food Pantry to bring awareness to hunger in Springfield Mass and determine the best way we could bridge the gap between people facing food insecurities and their access to food resources. We completed our task by creating a resource guide that included a wealth of information for both working and nonworking residents of Springfield. As of August 2016 there were over 18,000 unemployed residents of Springfield.
