Brandon Yates

Aspiring software developer and data scientist studying applied mathematics and computer science at Biola University. Excels in critical thinking with a strong technical background and interpersonal skills. Intentional, driven, and honest in pursuit of excellence and achievement. My work and educational experience have provided valuable skills that will enable me to be a successful contributor software development and data science. I am a double major in mathematics and computer science and have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.9. My background includes experience working for a 3D-printer company to develop a calibration application for first-time users. Through the development process, I collaborated with a software mentor, customer support team, and design specialist. Through this experience, I learned to continually develop new skills, take initiative, effectively solve problems, and optimize user experience. During my time at Biola University, I have also worked as a teacher's assistant, which gave me the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds. This experience has equipped me to work well with others from different backgrounds and perspectives than myself in pursuit of a common goal. Through these experiences I have developed a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, an aptitude for adapting to new environments, and a drive for great user experience. My experiences in technical and collaborative capacities have prepared me to effectively contribute in a software development or data science internship.
