Cara Deschermeier

My name is Cara Deschermeier. Im a creative and energetic individual who has the drive to do well with every task Im given. My passions include public speaking, singing, and dancing. During my final undergraduate year,I had the wonderful opportunity to participate onthe Intercollegiate Forensics team at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU).I prepared a Dramatic Interpretation piece, an Informative speech, and a Persuasive speech. Overall, I won six awards from three different tournaments. I graduated from SVSUwith a Bachelors of Arts in Communication inMay of2015. Throughout my college career, Iattainedextensive knowledge and experience about leadership, written and verbal communication, team-work, and time management. These skills can be seen through my success as the President of ENCORE (a student run organization at SVSU), the Special Events and Marketing Intern at St. Marys of Michigan Hospital, and the Instructional Designer Intern at United Federal Credit Union. I acquired outstanding leadership skills through myexperience as thePresident of ENCORE.ENCORE is a performance group at SVSU thatis entirely run by students. As the President, I oversawall managerial aspects of the group. This includedfacilitating Executive Board meetings, organizing the agenda for weekly rehearsals, and designing publicity materials for the shows. I wasa member of ENCORE since it began in the Fall of 2010 until May 2015.ENCOREprovideda rewarding experience for me in college. Currently, I'man Instructional Designerat United Federal Credit Union in St. Joseph, MI. I work with the Learning and Development team to create web-based and instructor led training for ournew employees.
