Varsity Tennis
For three years I have played doubles for my High School’s Tennis Team. During these years playing on the team I have learned so much that it is hard to put everything I have learned into words, but I can say with full confidence that being a part of this team has improved my time management skills, my teamwork skills, and my communication skills. Also, during my three years on the team, I won districts twice and my team won districts once; it was truly and amazing experience.

Youth Group
Since 1st grade I have gone to Sunday school and have actively participated in church events. One church event that I will remember forever was The National Catholic Youth Conference in 2013. Hundreds of young Catholics came from all over to gather and learn. It was amazing to get to know people my age who shared my same beliefs. Also, for the past 2 years I helped teach religious education to 4th graders. Through these experiences I learned a lot about commitment, patience, and acceptance.

German Club at State College Area High School
When I started taking German in 8th grade, I fell in love with it and I knew I would continue to pursue this language. After feeling like I knew enough German to get around, I participated in the exchange program. I was an exchange student in Hannover, Germany for 3 weeks. I lived with a German family and went to school. I met so many new and interesting people. I discovered a lot about the German culture and I became aware of the importance of independence, confidence, and friendship.

German Tutor
From September 2014 to June of 2015, I volunteered to help kids who were struggling with German. At that point I was far enough along in my education of the language to offer help. Hostess at The Nittany Lion Inn
I worked as a hostess in their dining room and restaurant named Whiskers. I monitored phones, seating, reservations, and dining Room. I coached new hostesses on the responsibilities the job entailed and aided Manager in scheduling by organizing employee schedule sheets. Having personal contact with the customers whether it be on the phone or in person, having to work with people much older than myself, and having to take responsibility for my own money has been a great experience. I have learned a lot about respect, maturity, and hard work.
