Catherine Kemp

Majored in Public Health
Georgia State University, Class of 2018
From New Orleans, LA
I am a Doctoral candidate at Georgia State University (GSU) School of Public Health, following a career in nursing and healthcare management & consulting. I also work at the GSU Tobacco Center of Regulatory Science (TCORS), where our research informs the development of regulatory policy and communications to reduce tobacco-caused harm. My current work at TCORS involves studying risk perceptions of novel tobacco products in relation to consumer behavior and use of these products. After completing doctoral studies, I would like to continue researching social contexts and behaviors in relation to use of tobacco and other addictive substances. Using this knowledge, my goal is to build more more effective approaches (through policy and intervention programs) that will reduce the burden of addiction on society.
