Dequan Burnside

Majoring in Software Engineering, Minoring in Leadership Studies
Iowa State University, Class of 2018
From Sioux City, IA
My life goals are to make a significant contribution to the world and to create an altruistic legacy. I find software to be the most versatile aspect of the future which is why I have chosen to study it at Iowa State University, along with a minor in Leadership Studies. I plan to be a leader in the software industry after graduation, either through entrepreneurship or in whichever position I secure in the startup world. I find life extremely short, so using my skills to solve a problem I'm passionate about is paramount. I am self-driven, creative, compassionate, caring, and inquisitive which amplify my relationships with others. I am always excited to learn new things, especially things that I can use to solve problems. I expect to solve problems involving the music industry, sports industry, or startup world. If you have any questions at all regarding my profile or would like to talk further, please email me at dequanburnside@gmail.com.
