High-Energy. Results-Driven. Focused. I am eager to utilize my Labor Studies and Employment Relations degree within the vast areas of HR. My passion for Human Resources is further expressed by my Communications Arts and Sciences minor and desire for relationship-building. In August 2009, I became a hostess, server and bartender and acquired two of the most useful and transferable skills: superb customer service and the ability to operate in a fast paced environment. Here, I learned the importance of balancing sales and customer relations. I was also given the opportunity to perform training and onboarding procedures for new employees. I was able to juggle a full-time school schedule as well as the responsibilities of a part-time job for four years. My next piece of work experience occurred as a result of my passion for fitness. In June, 2013 I had the opportunity to work at my local gym handling office/organizational duties and contract sales. Here, I was able to further tone my skills in customer service and sales. Again, despite my full-time school schedule, I thrived on the ability to help make a healthy change in customers lives. I thoroughly learned that passions will aid to my success in future careers. During my Junior year at Penn State, I was elected Vice President and Treasurer of an organization called United Students Against Sweatshops (USAS). This organization aroused another passion of mine- advocating for worker's rights. Through my experiences as VP of this organization, I gained exceptional leadership abilities by traveling to conferences around the country per semester. I led various workshops at these conferences focusing on employment law. At the start of the Spring 2014 semester, our organization consisted of 4 members. Through recruiting efforts such as volunteering at involvement fairs, flyering campus, and performing class wraps, I helped grow the organization to 20 members by Spring 2015.
