Elizabeth Schultz

Miami University , Class of 2019
From Bay City, Mich.
With a quickly evolving world shrouded in technology, young generations are losing their connection with the natural world. Either it is forgotten, or placed in metaphorical bubble wrap and tucked safely away. Creating a lasting connection between children and nature is an art form. Interpretation requires the ability to not only speak to your audience, but to inspire them, and spark within them a curiosity about your topic. I believe that an educational message is best delivered with an unforgettable experience, so I always strive to spread information in a fun and unique way. Richard Louv said, "There's a generation now that didn't grow up in nature. Some of these adults are parents and they know that nature is good for their kids, but they don't know where to start." I am dedicated to participating in and providing programs that help these parents get their kids into nature!
