Chem 299 study under professor Andrew Cooksy with computational chemistry
• Gaussian Calculation of optimized energies of HC3O radicals and some frequencies with 3-21 G, 6-31 G, cc-PVDZ, cc-PVTZ, and cc-PVDZ-augmented basis sets using Density functional Theory (DFT), Muller Plesset theory (MP2, MP4), B3LYP CCISD and QCISD.

• This 700 gpm test facility treats tertiary wastewater with ozone, biological activated carbon (BAC), microfiltration/ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis (RO) and Ultraviolet light and advanced oxidation. • Performed a literature review on microbes in the BAC media and prepared a technical memo on results. • Drafted and revised meeting/tour notes on Avista (globally recognized expert in RO membrane autopsy and cleaning chemicals). • Assisted in obtaining, collating, and copying electronic and paper copies of operation and maintenance manuals for the AWPF. • Received training on the hydraulics and engineering drawings of the AWPF. • Drafted the first round of revisions to the 2011 AWPF tour guide manual which became the City’s 2014 tour guide manual. • Assisted with cleaning of the AWPF area for public tours. • Sorted through Colorado River and California bay delta watershed National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit data on excel, color coded it according to type of effluent, and inserted GPS coordinates. • Attended a staff meeting and a presentation on groundwater modeling.
