Currently designing a polymer processing strategy to synthesize UV-crosslinked zwitterionic hydrogel coatings onto silicone catheter tubes using self-assembled monolayers (SAM) and photo polymerization. The tubes will eventually be implanted into mice using a sub-dermal implant model, and the goal of the project is to synthesize new polymers designed to reduce the risk of infection from indwelling catheters.
