Jeffrey Black

I am currently in my final semester at APSU to complete my BA in Accounting/Finance. While attending classes I have been a member of the ASAP (Accounting Society of Austin Peay) and recently elected to the position of Director of Community Affairs to coordinate an expaned presence in Clarksville and the surrounding community. I've been a team memeber in the TVA portfolio management competition of which my school has held a position in the top 5 out of 25 schools for the last 5 consecutive years, with us well on our way to yet another year to maintain that trend. I have participated in the CFA challenge for the Tennessee Valley region and am part of a group looking to organize the formation of an investment club to assist the finance professors to have students manage the TVA portfolio over the summer months. I have just begun a tax internship at Blankenship CPA Group after having completed my fourth year of tax preparation as a manager at Liberty Tax, in Clarksville, TN, where I have had the opportunity to deal with several complex tax issues from completing 1120s for a couple of small C-corporations, to sorting out eligibility requirements with an overseas client in Pakistan for his family. I have experience in manufacturing and the healthcare industry from a labor and management perspective, in addition to the tax work I currently do through Liberty tax. I have great interest in the energy and healthcare fields and would like to pursue work in those fields as I complete my degree. I'm currently looking for an internship opportunity to expand my knowledge/ experience base, and would appreciate any potential leads.
