♦ Led accounting department from organization’s infancy through growth stage.
♦ Took primary internal role in leading organization through 8 financial reviews and then 4 financial audits, acting as the lead contact with organization’s public accounting firm, SS&G/BDO USA.
♦ Supervised year-end closing process that included: reconciliation of revenues; tax-deductible contribution receipt issuance; local, state and federal filings; evaluations for possible UBIT scenarios; adjusting entries for depreciation/amortization, accrued wages and tax liabilities, deferred revenue, etc.
♦ Handled and processed all aspects of payroll, including all local, state and federal filings, for approximately 80-100 employees, some out-of-state, including a variety of special tax considerations for church and ministerial employees
♦ Led organization through a successful IRS payroll audit in 2012 for the tax year 2009
♦ Created and developed organization’s employee expense reimbursement policies for travel and business expenses in compliance with IRS regulations; also responsible for policy approval and enforcement
♦ Maintained fixed asset schedules and related journal entries that included constructing 60,000 sq. ft. of office space, purchasing 90+ acres of land, finance-purchasing ten adjacent residential properties, capital leases and notes payable for a variety of equipment and ongoing land and building improvements
♦ Developed, maintained and evaluated budgets for a variety of projects, events, and funds
