Jessica Voutsinas

In light of our increasingly complex and turbulent global landscape, the need for compassion and creation is more prescient than ever; which is why I chose to dedicate my life to promoting and sustaining the arts. Through the Ithaca College Honors Program, I have studied ethnomusicology and voice performance so that I can better understand the intimate relationship between a society and its musicians from both perspectives. Outside of the classroom, I have been a fierce arts advocate, working for the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra, and the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra to cultivate relationships with patrons. Additionally, I co-founded a music technology company that seeks to use music as a form of wellness through neurologically informed, curated playlists. My approach focuses on collaboration, interdisciplinarity, and empowerment. Moving forward in my life and career, I hope to use artistic mediums to both facilitate constructive social dialogues and to contribute to the economic and cultural vitality of our communities.
