Jacob Richardson

I've recently been hired into a full-time position beginning this coming January at Clemson working with Clemson Computing and Information Technologies in the service management group. I will be helping to update the university's service catalogue, but also develop standards for offering the best services and effectively managing ongoing projects. I finish my undergraduate degree this coming May, and hope to continue working in a position related to IT doing some form of project management and process development. Most recently, I worked as an intern with digital resources through CCIT, but also as a teaching assistant with our general engineering department. In August of this year, I completed a co-op position in the Production Improvement department for the body shop at BMW Manufacturing in Spartanburg, SC. I have a LSS Green Belt Certification, but the majority of my experience at BMW was in process development and document/chart design as well as implementation across the shop of projects from quality to safety. At Clemson, I have had the opportunity to work with our IT Student Advisory Board in every function from college representative to chairman and have also been able to serve in leadership functions with my church and campus ministry from music leadership to ministry president. My time at Clemson has taught me the value of working in teams, the importance of real motivation, and the satisfaction that comes from persevering through the toughest classes and seeing hard work pay off. While I can't claim to have been a perfect student the entire way through, my time at Clemson has taught me the value of truly investing oneself and has been an experience I wouldn't take back for anything.
