Karlee started playing the harp at the age of 11 and soon after joined the Star City Harp Ensemble of Roanoke, VA. She also performs at schools, churches, weddings and other private events including indoor and outdoor venues. Since she has started playing, Karlee has studied to be part of a distinctive lineage begun by the preeminent harpist, composer, and teacher, Carlos Salzedo. The Salzedo approach to harp playing emphasizes the importance of musicality, technical proficiency, aesthetics, and performance. She continues to develop her musical abilities at James Madison University, where she is studying Music Performance under Dr. Jaclyn Wappel. Not only does Karlee perform in the Roanoke Valley, she also provides music for Salem, Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and surrounding cities.
